Privacy Policy

Short version:VoiceTask processes your voice to create tasks. Audio is not stored after transcription. We don't sell data, don't run ads, and don't share your information with anyone except the APIs needed to make the app work.
1Introduction
Welcome to VoiceTask ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application VoiceTask (the "App"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the App.
2Data We Collect
Voice and Audio
The App records your voice only when you explicitly activate the microphone by tapping the record button. Audio is sent for transcription and then discarded — we do not store raw recordings on our servers.
Task Data
Tasks you create, edit, or complete are stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync, task data is transmitted and stored on our servers to enable cross-device access.
Device Information
We may collect basic device information (model, OS version, app version, and a randomly generated device ID) solely for diagnosing crashes and improving App stability. This information cannot identify you personally.
3How We Use Your Information
- To transcribe your voice input into text tasks.
- To parse dates, times, and priority levels from your spoken input.
- To provide, operate, and maintain the App.
- To detect, diagnose, and fix technical issues.
- To improve voice recognition accuracy over time.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to serve advertising.
4Third-Party Services
VoiceTask uses the following services to operate:
Speech-to-text API
Your voice audio is sent to a speech recognition service for transcription. Audio is not retained by the provider after transcription.
AI language model API
Transcribed text is sent to an AI service to extract structured task data (title, due date, priority). Text is not used to train models without your consent.
These services maintain their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.
5Data Retention
Task data stored on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the App. If you use cloud sync, your data is retained on our servers until you delete your account. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us at mobdevdz2@gmail.com.
6Permissions
The App requests the following device permissions:
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO)
Required to capture voice input. The App only accesses the microphone while the record button is actively held or tapped.
Internet
Required to send audio for transcription and to sync tasks if enabled.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Optional. Used to send task reminders for items with due dates.
7Children's Privacy
VoiceTask is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
8Security
We use commercially reasonable security measures — including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest — to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above or by posting a notice in the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
